Content monetization app

Senxate is a content monetization app empowering creators to earn from their digital content through subscriptions, pay-per-view, and exclusive memberships. The platform targets independent creators, offering them tools to manage content, engage with audiences, and track revenue streams.

I joined the project as a  product designer during its earliest phase, with the responsibility of creating a distinctive brand identity and translating loosely formed concepts into a polished, developer-ready product design.

Challenges

The branding lacked distinct identity and failed to emotionally resonate in a market already dominated by global players. For the product itself, the founders had compelling aspirations but the ideas were fragmented, lacking clear user journeys or a strong positioning strategy.

Approach
Branding Process

The first step was to give Senxate a strong and memorable identity capable of cutting through the noise. I approached branding not just as a visual exercise but as an emotional bridge between creators and their audiences.

  • I distilled the essence of the platform’s vision and values into a brand story that celebrated empowerment, accessibility, and authenticity.

  • I explored multiple visual identity directions, settling on a modern, confident aesthetic that communicated trust, creativity, and forward-thinking.

  • The color palette and typography were chosen to feel approachable yet bold—helping Senxate stand apart in a saturated market while remaining adaptable across digital and mobile contexts.

  • I ensured that the brand language was relatable to both aspiring creators and seasoned professionals, setting the tone for all user touchpoints.

By the end of the branding phase, Senxate had a unified voice and look that could appeal emotionally while reinforcing credibility.

Design Process

Once the brand foundation was in place, I shifted focus to translating the vision into a pixel-ready prototype. This phase demanded a deeper dive into real-world challenges faced by creators and audiences.

  • Research & Discovery
I worked closely with a team of three to study competitor platforms, interview creators, and analyze user expectations. The research revealed significant gaps in the existing market, particularly for African creators. We identified friction points such as restrictive payment gateways, lack of localized onboarding flows, and rigid subscription pricing that excluded potential audiences.

  • User Journey Mapping
We mapped creator and subscriber journeys from first interaction to active use, spotting high-friction moments like lengthy account verification, unclear monetization setup, and limited customization options for content visibility.

  • Feature Prioritization
Insights led us to prioritize features that would differentiate Senxate:
    – Flexible pricing structures to cater to varied audience sizes and engagement levels.
    – Localization in onboarding to reduce drop-offs among non-US/European creators.
    – Multi-currency support with emphasis on NGN for Nigerian users.
    – Enhanced creator analytics for tracking engagement and earnings in real-time.

  • Iterative High Fidelity Prototyping & Validation

Outcomes (still in progress)
  • User testing revealed a 90% satisfaction rate with the onboarding process and positive reception of the modular monetization tools.
